What's Happening in february
We have many great programs scheduled in February. If you are at least 50 years of age, we would love for you to join us. Our yearly dues are only $25 each year. If you do not drive, we will arrange for transportation with SETHRA.
The first week we are celebrating everything candy! We are making homemade crock-pot candy, a game of candy trivia, and candy bingo. We are making Valentine cards to enter into the TN Overlook Valentine card contest. We will post some on our website soon.
We are very proud of our 2 new continuing classes. Dennis Thomas of Oneheart Training Center in Athens is conducting a self-defense class bi-weekly. See the calendar for dates and times. Jane Preskitt is the instructor of our new crocheting class that meets every other Friday. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an expert, you will enjoy yourself. And don't forget our watercolor class that is held twice each month.
Several craft classes are scheduled such as making a floating Valentine candle, we are making a rose kissing ball, making a bird-feeder, and a butterfly shadow box.
We will have 2 digital literacy classes this month. The first one is an introduction to the android cell phone. The second one is on cybersecurity. Each person that takes the classes will be entered to win a new Apple iPad.
At the end of the month, we will celebrate our February Birthdays. And we will celebrate Grumpy Old Men Day by watching the movie "Grumpy Old Men"
Finally, don't forget Pizza Day on the 28th and Potato Day on the 18th!
And we can't forget all the bingo and bean auctions and other fun activities coming in February!
